7/26/11

This morning everyone woke up around 4:30 in the morning to get ready and pack for the drive home. I was so sad to see my family leave, and I didn't really feel like doing anything after they did so I just sat around in my room for a while and tried to fall back asleep. Finally around 10 AM I got a text from Kristin asking me to come to the Louisville office for my first practical test. I went down to Kenyatta to get the dummy back and then went to the Flatiron Mall for a little bit just to walk around and do something.

I got chinese food in the mall food court. They were having a summer special 2 entrees for 5.99 (versus 1 entree for 5.69) so I went ahead and got the orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. I headed to the office around 1:15 so I got there early and had about 20-30 minutes to go over my notes and prepare for the test, and plan what I would monitor in some scenarios with the dummy. When Kristin got there I started my test which was to hook everything up in 45 minutes, including the needle electrodes in the patient, and set pretend baselines (even though you can't fully do that with the dummy). I finished before the timer, and Kristin said that I did a good job so I was happy about that.

We finished around 5 PM and I headed back to the hotel. Danny called me and asked if I wanted to get dinner so we went to Lodo's right on 104th. Kenyatta had already gone downtown to get seafood. I ate my leftover chinese before we went so I didn't get any food. We came back to the hotel and met up with Kenyatta who had our name badges for the operating room and hung out for a while before going to bed.
