7/25/11

I was scheduled to have a surgery in Denver at 10:30 this morning, but at 8:30 I got a text saying the schedule had changed and that I needed to be at St. Anthony's Central Hospital in Lakewood at 9!!! I literally threw on my clothes grabbed my stuff and ran out the door. I had to take a Slimfast because I didn't have time to eat breakfast or do anything else. I got to the hospital a little after 9 and met one of the techs Sylvia for the case. I set up the equipment and the procedure was a lumbar (lower back) case. I got to put in all the needles and do most of the work during the procedure.

By the time the procedure ended I was STARVING! Kenyatta, one of the other trainees, had asked me if she could get the dummy to do some practice runs with so I needed to go back to the hotel. My family was in Golden again, and had gone down a toboggan! They were driving to the Whitesides around 5:00-5:30 which gave me just enough time to scoot back to the hotel to give Kenyatta the dummy, drive through McDonald's for a double cheeseburger, and get to the Whiteside's house.

We ate outside on the Whiteside's patio again as the weather was amazing. I got to the house at the perfect timing! As I was pulling up, Mr. Richard and my dad were pulling out to go pick up the pizzas from Pizza Hut.

We enjoyed pizza dinner and salad. I actually put red pepper on my pizza, and it was really good (not as hot as I had expected). After dinner I needed to do some work for my job online so I did that while everyone else talked and Marcus played the piano for us. We left around 8 PM to go back to the hotel. Megan and I watched Switched at Birth until we had seen all the new episodes!! It is a TV series about two girls who were switched in the hospital so they grew up with the wrong parent(s). One girl becomes deaf due to meningitis, and she and her single mother lacking money move into the guest house of the other family who is rich.
