7/21/11

Today I was supposed to have a case around noon so my family decided to go back to Golden to go to a Buffalo Bill exhibit and sight see some other things. Megan came with me to the post office to deliver my camera back to the manufacturer Olympus because it had stopped working. Then we ran to Target to get Megan a new camera charger since she couldn't find hers. My case got cancelled and so Kristin asked me to instead meet her at the Denver office to practice setting up on the dummy. I decided to take the Boulder Valley bus down from the stop at Sheridan and 36 because it went straight to the corner where the office is at, and had a ride that was arriving just before 2 PM which is when I was scheduled to meet up with Kristin. Kristin was very impressed that I was willing to ride the bus with the dummy. He didn't bother me though, he just sat quietly next to me the whole ride :)

At the Denver office I practiced setting up the dummy for a surgery or two and finished at the perfect timing. My family came to pick me up around 5 when they got done in Golden. The traffic was just starting up, and we headed to Centennial to go to the Huess's house. We know the Huess's from Bethel. Pastor Huess now preaches at a church here in Colorado.
(A view of downtown, I really enjoy the energy of the downtown area, there are always people walking around or lounging on patios, and this street is constantly decorated with lights and other things, today it was American flags)
We finally made it to the Huess's around 6:15! They had made a delicious Italian meal. To kick things off there was fresh, home baked Italian bread and an olive oil, Italian herbs, and garlic mixture to dip it in. Mrs. Susan had picked fresh vegetables from her garden and made a delicious salad with pears on it! For dinner we ate spicy sausage lasagna and "pasta butter," the sauce containing buffalo meat! Ice cream was for desert and after dinner, Nelson, Megan, Marcus and I watched a movie (well, I fell asleep from eating too much, food coma) while the parents chatted.
