7/16/11

Training started for me today at 10 AM in Boulder, CO. I rode to the training site with Danny and Kenyatta. The training was set for about 10 other techs who are getting ready to take their CNIM certification. Scott Davis our Director of training who lives in Mississippi flew in for the weekend and all the other techs had to take a practice exam on Friday night. Fortunately I got out of it since I have only been here a week. We went over BAERs (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Responses), VEPs (Visual Evoked Potentials), and a bunch of anatomy and electronics information.
After training we went back to the hotel and Sylvia met me at the hotel. We ventured to the bus station one street down from my hotel and got on the "Boulder Valley (BV)" bus which was a straight shot from Westminster to downtown Denver. It dropped us off at Market and 16th Street Mall right where I work downtown! We walked to the Rio where we were meeting Maggie and her brother and brother's girlfriend. It was Maggie's birthday so we all got dinner and strawberry frozen margaritas.
After dinner we went out to a couple different places one of which was called 1-up where there are old school games like pinball and ski ball! They also had huge jenga. The wooden jenga pieces were almost a foot long each so when the tower topples its much more dramatic!!! The jenga games were really awesome to watch, but again, it was so busy, we didn't get to play. I hope we can go back.
